It’s a Breeze to Earn your Reward for Interest Reward Checking!

Earning your Interest Reward is so easy, you’re probably already doing it! To earn your reward, simply do the following activities and transactions in your Interest Reward Checking account each Monthly Qualification Cycle:

  • Have at least 11 debit card transactions post and settle
  • Be enrolled in and agree to receive eStatements

We told you it was easy! If you don’t earn the monthly reward, don’t worry — your Interest Reward account is still free, and it still earns our base interest rate of 0.01%. Plus, you can get right back to earning your interest reward the very next month!

Free Interest Reward Checking: Earnings Information: Account transactions and activities may take one or more days to post and settle to the account and all must do so during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in order to qualify for the account’s reward. ATM-processed transactions and transfers between accounts do not count toward earning account reward. “Monthly Qualification Cycle” means a period beginning one (1) business day prior to the first day of the current statement cycle through one (1) business day prior to the close of the current statement cycle. “Statement cycle” means the period of time for which Security State Bank provides a summary of the financial activities and transactions that post and settle to the accountholder’s account.  See our website or contact one of our bank financial service representatives for specific Statement Cycle dates. “Business Day” means a calendar day other than a Saturday or a Sunday, January 1, the third Monday in January, the third Monday in February, the last Monday in May, July 4, the first Monday in September, the second Monday in October, November 11, the fourth Thursday in November, or December 25. If January 1, July 4, November 11, or December 25 falls on a Sunday, the next Monday is not a Business Day.

Reward Information: When your Interest Reward Checking account requirements are met during a Monthly Qualification Cycle, balances up to and including $10,000 receive APY* of 3.00%; and balances over $10,000 earn 0.25% interest rate on the portion of balance over $10,000, resulting in a range from 0.50% to 3.00% APY* depending on the account’s balance. When you do not earn the Interest Reward, all balances in the account earn 0.01% APY*.  Interest will be credited to your Interest Reward Checking account on the last day of the current statement cycle.  APY* = Annual Percentage Yield.  APY is accurate as of 03/25/2021. Rates and rewards are variable and may change after account is opened. Fees may reduce earnings.

Additional Information: Account approval, conditions, earnings, limits, timeframes, enrollments, and other requirements apply.  $100 minimum deposit is required to open the account. Requirements to receive the reward are receipt of electronic statements and 11 debit card purchases posting and settling to the account. Limit one (1) account per individual taxpayer identification number.  There are no recurring monthly service charges or fees to open, maintain, or close this account.
